Newsletter March 2021

Dear Citizenfund supporter,

Another month has passed, and we have not been idle on our side:

💻 Our new website is online! After weeks of work with Slide Up, we are delighted to unveil the result! On the agenda: more readability and transparency. We won’t tell you more, and we’ll let you discover 😉

📈 We’ve been passing important milestones for 3 months now… And March is no exception to the rule: we have been joined by a 192nd cooperator! We are now managing €293,250 and will soon add €150,000 from Finance&Invest.brussels. There is still time to join us and invest in the transition!

🕵️‍♀️ We organised a new selection committee in March. And good news, we have projects to present to our cooperators: Bulkbar and Novacitis! We are organising an (online) evening on Tuesday 20 April 2021 at 6pm during which the entrepreneurs will present themselves and answer all your questions! Our co-operators will then vote online for or against the financing of these 2 new projects. The presentation evening is open to all, you are welcome to attend:

Meet the entrepreneurs of Bulkbar and Novacitis

By investing until then, you will also have the opportunity to vote for or against the financing of Bulkbar and Novacitis. Any questions? You will surely find answers in our (new) FAQ.

🌱 The impact of our investments

🚴‍♂️ Did you (re)see the documentary “Le Monde Respire” on RTBF? urbike is presented there as a real logistic transport alternative!

📖 Wilfried has released his 15th magazine in French and 2nd in Flemish. The theme: Brussels, world city (FR) and the borders (NL). Available at your local bookshond p or on their website. For the occasion, François Brabant, editor-in-chief of Wilfried was interviewed by BX1 and by RTBF.

🤝 Give a Day has launched the “Week van het goede doel“an online festival that runs from 29 March to 3 April. The programme includes online events and workshops given by charities sharing their knowledge, expertise and inspiration with the general public.

🎞️ While we wait for the cinemas to reopen, CinéCité‘s Kinograph is offering some , as well as analysis, debate and opinions on their Kinokonfiné blog.

🚚 Happy Hours Market is celebrating its second anniversary with a report from BX1 during its releases and an article in the Metro ! You can now buy unsold food in 2 new municipalities: Brussels City and Jette, in addition to Forest, Saint-Gilles and Ixelles (Matongé, ULB and Ixelles Hospital).

♻️ Tuli water bottles, created by our cooperator (and recent member of the Selection Committee) Nathalie are on Waio.co ! Each gourd purchased funds access to clean water for a school child through their partnership with the NGO SPOUTS in Uganda.

🏦 NewB has already invited more than 30,000 of its cooperators to open their new account. Not yet received your invitation? Stay tuned! NewB is also looking for a Chief Commercial Officer.

🧱 BC Materials is in the newspaper! L’Avenir wrote an article on the occasion of the Batibouw fair about the circularity and innovation of Brussels briquettes.

🌳 Sonian Wood Coop was the subject of a nice report by BX1 (again!) on the alternative they offer. Find it here. And that’s not all! RTBF also dedicated a story to the cooperative

🩲 Following its award last month (as Belgium’s most promising innovation at a Pitch event for Flanders and the Netherlands), Entusia is in discussions with new distributors.
